Message	Although compressed, it is still just air...excess air that could create a backpressure which could damage the turbo if that function is not met either with a BOV or a recirc. valve. Last time I checked, it's not illegal to release plain air into the atmosphere. Now maybe the police could be picky and give a ticket for noise ordinance but by no means is a BOV illegal.
